I was so excited to be invited by Mary’s Secret Ingredients to review their fall subscription box! I LOVE subscriptions like this. The snack and goodie-filled boxes are great, but it was really awesome getting unique, gourmet ingredients (and even a small kitchen tool!) that I could use to create new recipes. Mary’s boxes ship quarterly, one for each season, and the contents are kept secret until all the boxes have shipped. Once you’ve received your box, they update their website with recipe suggestions to inspire you.
Mail madam knocks on my door, hands me the box. Close door. Squeal, startling the children. Run to the kitchen, open box immediately.
Ultragrain flour, tuscan herb salt, spicy/sweet homemade jellies, and “the world’s most accurate” measuring spoons. The flour and salt got married and made bread. The Hell Fire Pepper and Guava Brava Jelly dressed slice after slice (they went surprisingly well with Tuscan bread. Who’da thought?). And I’ve used those lovely measuring spoons every day since I opened the box 0′ fun. (Seriously awesome- they have measurements from ONE SIXTY-FOURTH of a teaspoon up to two tablespoons. And they coordinate with KitchenAid colors. How cool is that?)
Did I mention that Mary donates a portion of all of her profits to Feed the Children, a campaign to eliminate childhood hunger? She’s a talented, passionate lady with a cause. So incredible! Follow the link to the Feed the Children website if you’re feeling inspired to help!
VERDICT: Mary’s Secret Ingredients subscription boxes are exciting, inspiring, and useful. I’d love to receive one every season from here until eternity.
If you’re feeling jealous of my goodies, fear not. You can head over to the website and get everything I have listed above, plus incredible items from their previous boxes! And even BETTER than that, Mary has asked me to do a giveaway for my lovely readers! EEEEEKK! The giveaway runs the first 2 weeks of November and the winner will receive Mary’s winter subscription box. I’m FOR REALS jealous! Stay tuned for entry details in the next couple of weeks!
