Burgerssss. You know by now how I feel about burgers. Grub was excellent. Don’t you hate going to a new place and only being able to try one thing, though?? It’s so sad. Going out with a tight-knit group has many perks and trying each other’s food is one of my favorites. In our visit to Grub, I was able to try 4 different burgers and both kinds of fries. It was fantastic.
The inside was fun. I’d say it was industrial meets contemporary rustic. Or something like that. I’m no interior designer…. See for yourself.
Pictured below is my burger. I got the Guacapotle which is a juicy beef patty topped with cheddar cheese, guacamole and a chipotle aioli with the skinny fries. Those fries were gooood. Crispy and super flavorful. I love french fries and these were a winner. They make their buns in house, fresh every HOUR and you could tell. They were delicious. Someone else got the sweet potato fries and they were also yummy. I liked the skinny fries more, though.
Anna got the Thai Peanut. WEIRD. It’s topped with creamy peanut butter, roasted peanuts, cilantro lime coconut flakes and Sambal mayo. Too many peanuts and just an all around odd flavor for a hamburger… Even Anna who likes weird things didn’t enjoy it.
Adam got the Lockhart Legend. He was sold as soon as he saw the Dr Pepper logo next to it on the menu. He is a serious Dr P boy. His burger was topped with smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, house-made Dr Pepper bbq sauce, fried onion rings and pickles. I don’t think after that description much needs to be added, but it was really delicious. The Dr P added a nice sweetness to the bbq sauce which went so well with the other toppings. Bacon, cheddar, fried onions. It was awesome.
Brandon had been a couple times with his coworkers and knew exactly what he wanted to get. Get this- he goes to a burger bar with a bunch of dudes and what do they recommend? The TURKEY BURGER. So we go and what does HE get (for the second or third time) and recommend to all of us? The TURKEY BURGER. We didn’t listen, of course, because who goes to a burger joint for turkey?? But ooooooh did he prove us wrong. Ground turkey breast seasoned with pesto, topped with bacon, swiss cheese, sprouts, avocado, and chipotle aioli. It was hands-down the best burger on the table.
Grub in a nut-shell- fun atmosphere, really tasty burgers, definite recommendation.
