Found- The Village Baking Co | a kitchen cafe

I know it feels like it, but no, you’re not in Paris. Sorry :(. Look at that lovely store front! You should be sold just on what you can see here. Seriously, you don’t even need to read farther. Just go.

Ok… You want more? Here.

Fresh baked bread. French pastries. Homemade marmalades, jams and granola.

You can smell this amazing place from outside. It’s tucked right off of University in Dallas, just before the DART tracks when you’re headed west from Greenville.

Please go here. And tell me about it! I want to be jealous of you and the delicious, life-changing things you’ll be eating.

Grabbing croissants at the grocery store for brunch? HA never again, my friend. (omg not that I do that.)

What I’ve tried so far:

Almond Croissant (pictured above)

Laminated Brioche with cinnamon and sugar (the twisty cinnamon amazingness pictured above)

Kouign Amann- we’ve tried chocolate, raspberry and vanilla (the flowery-looking pastries on the left)

Croissants

Bacon & Caramelized Onion Scone

Chocolate chip Financiers

Black Forest Ham & Gruyere Croissant

Blackberry & Peach Tart

Small Loaves- Raspberry and a Fig/Hazelnut

Sourdough loaf- good gravy it was just the perfect crunch on the outside and so soft on the inside. And not overly sour. So so yum.

The pound cake and Kouign Amann are absolute favorites. I will never buy from another bakery again- I am that hooked.

Here’s their website. I’d love to see the menu on it and more shots of the foooood! If they ever update- will photograph for pastries. Haha but seriously- I would love to photograph such beautiful food and that awesome little shop. Sign me up, please!

Facebook page where they update about new yummies and Farmer’s Market locations where they’ll be selling.

If you’re in the area- or not- go visit them! I live 30 minutes away and find time to make it there before brunches and breakfasts. And any time I’m driving by… I promise you, it is beyond worth it.
